Bafana shoot blanks.... again.

Our beloved Bafana Bafana and Senegal played out a dull draw at the Moses Mabida Stadium last night.

The clash started with a moment of silence observed for former South African international football player, Thabang Lebese who recently passed away

But I guess that’s the only thing worth mentioning about this match because it was an awful and un-entertaining tie.

The first was so boring that literally fell asleep with the only highlight being May Mahlangu bursting into the box and shooting straight at the Senegalese goalkeeper.

The second half was a little better, Pitso took off Kagisho Dikgacoi and Tsepo Masilela, Captain Steven Pienaar (who another below par game for Bafana), Thulani Serero and Edward Manqele for Thanduyise Khuboni, Punch Masenamela , George Maluleka, Teko Modise and Lebohang Mokoena.

These substitutes made a difference as South Africa looked more industrious in the midfield and Masenamela made good runs and put in some decent crosses on the left flank.

But in the end it doesn’t really matter because it wasn’t enough and the win-less streak continues… it’s been eight games now and we are looking for someone to blame, is it the coach or is it the players?

Well I personally think it’s both the coach for chopping and changing and giving random players caps, and the players for being so poor in front of goal.
